The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is the professional association of individuals responsible for generating philanthropic support for a wide variety of non-profit, charitable organizations. Founded in 1960, AFP (formerly the National Society of Fund Raising Executives) represents over 29,000 members in 172 chapters in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and China.
The Hampton Roads Chapter was formed in 2001 and serves development professionals in the greater Hampton Roads region with professional development programs, resources and services. It iis one of seven chapters in the state of Virginia, and the second largest. Boasting membership of approximately 100, the chapter offers a plethora of programs and workshops for its members and the local community.
