The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents more than 30,000 members in 197 chapters, including 11 collegiate chapters, and members in 38 countries including the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Europe and elsewhere. For more than 40 years, AFP has been the standard-bearer for professionalism in fundraising by working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education, and certification programs.
The Hampton Roads Chapter was formed in 2001 and serves development professionals in the greater Hampton Roads region with professional development programs, resources and services. It is now the second largest AFP chapter in Virginia.

TOPIC: Web 2.0 -Building an Online Community of Donors
Patrick D. Kellogg, President and CEO of PDK Fundraising, shared expert advice on how to increase online donations and expand annual giving programs through Facebook, My Space, Wikkies, Blogs, and more. Patrick has over 18 years of fundraising experience and has served in leadership fundraising positions with the College of William and Mary, the University of Virginia and Vassar College, among others, and has worked on campaigns totaling over $3.5 billion, personally raising hundreds of five, six, seven and eight figure gifts for colleges, universities and non profits across the globe.
