Posting Procedure

AFP-HR is now posting all job openings on this website for a period of 30 days. This is in addition to the current service of an email distribution of the posting on two consecutive Fridays. Members and those who have requested to receive information from our association, will receive a weekly job posting email with a link to this section of the website.

If you are a non-profit and are interested in posting a position through our Job Bank, you may do so by adhering to the process below:

-Cost for a posting on the Job Bank: $75 AFP Members, $200 Non-Members -- per job posting/2 eBlasts.

-The posting is distributed on two (2) consecutive Fridays in a weekly eBlast to hundreds of iindividuals.
-Provide job posting to: AFP-HR Chapter Administrator, Teri Commander at info@afp-hr.org.  Please remove all     special formatting as it conflicts with the web site software..

 Please do not include entire job description, but rather a brief job announcement.

-Job postings are due to the Chapter Administrator by 5 p.m. each Thursday for the next day's email distribution.

-If you request your posting to be removed from the website before the 30 day limit, please indicate a date

Director of Development and Communications/Physicians for Peace  


Physicians for Peace (PFP), located in Norfolk, VA,  is an international, humanitarian, non-profit, medical education organization dedicated to building peace and international friendships in developing nations.  PFP is currently seeking a Director of Development and Communications to provide strong leadership, oversight and direction for all of the organization's fundraising and communications efforts. Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director of Development and Communications will be responsible for conceptualization, organization and implementation of a comprehensive, strategic fundraising and marketing program. The Director will manage the implementation of initiatives designed to ensure the organization's ongoing and long-term financial stability through the establishment and maintenance of a sound fundraising program.  S/he will serve as part of the senior management team and will work closely with senior leadership to build relationships with donors and strategic partners.  The candidate should have demonstrated the ability to work with diverse donor and funding streams including major gifts, private and corporate foundations, special events and grassroots fundraising.  S/he must have experience working with and securing gifts from high level donors and volunteers as well as experience in on-line giving.       PR and marketing skills a plus.  For details and application information, refer to www.physiciansforpeace.org and click on "job opportunity."
